James Piercy
James’s first experience with Osteopathy came while needing a few treatments to correct a few neck issues caused by many years of having tennis coaching and playing in local tournaments. Most recently he has joined up with Bury St Edmunds Hockey club, and is looking forward to his debut season. Having loved the experience of observing at a local Osteopathic practice it set James on the pathway that would see him qualify from the British School of Osteopathy in London (2006). While Studying he was able to take part in a sports injury clinic, an expectant mother’s clinic and he also has the experience of working at the Royal Free Hospital in Middlesex. While Studying in London, James was able to add a diploma in sports massage and injuries management to his qualifications, and has since gone on to complete a qualification in dry needling. In 2000, James was able to combine two alternative passions outside sport. Travel and conservation. The destination was Central America, for a series of projects. Mainly based in Costa Rica he was able to oversee the rehabilitation of macaws and other parrots.......
... the preservation of leatherback turtles & sloths, as well as other eco-tourism schemes. In between saving the world, (species at a time), he was able to take part in some R&R by bungee jumping 265 feet off a bridge......
..... do some white water rafting & scaling the second highest peak in Central America. At almost 3 times the height of Ben Nevis, reaching the summit of Mt. Chirripo (12500+ feet) was a challenge that couldn’t be ignored!
